Sprinklers and hot dogs...

Last Friday night I decided to let my hair down, if you will, and do something a little wild and crazy with David...you got it...running through the sprinklers-fully clothed(well obviously)! We had a ton of fun and it is now a sweet memory of mine. Well, he loved it so much that he's done it almost every night since. He has a blast and it's so funny to watch him have to work up the guts to run through it (it's a little cold). He always tells me after "Mom, my hands are FREEZING!" -Something he's heard me quote from Dumb and Dumber; "Harry, your hands are FREEZING!" Ya, you can only appreciate it if you've seen the movie 3,000 times. I giggle every time he says it!

Many of you know of David's love for hot dogs. Well, here's a close up of his MOST favorite shirt. He would wear this thing (and sometimes does) for days on end, including to bed! I guess he just thinks what could be cooler than eating a hot dog...other than wearing one? I don't know-I'm starting to think that we have a future Nathan's hot dog champion on our hands.

Weekend happenings...

Happy 6 month birthday to my baby! I can't believe it! It's so funny (and CRAZY) to me that in 6 short months Emily went from the first picture to the second. Isn't that insane? Her official 6 mo day was on Saturday and I seriously have noticed big changes in her just this weekend. She is so much more interactive- she'll play games now like dancing when you sing. We've discovered that she loves balloons and she thinks they are hilarious! She has now eaten green beans and pears, and my favorite just happened today; I had a client this afternoon who asked to hold her and when she picked her up, Emily turned her upper body and reached her arms out towards me!! She knows who I am!! It melted my heart. I love her more everyday. David has been so cute lately, too. The last few days he loves to go with me to get Emily up from her nap. He runs to her crib side and peeks through the bars and says "Oh! Hi Emily! You woke up!" Like always, Emily returns his smile, breaths super fast and does her little happy hands and feet! It's the cutest thing.

This was Emily after church yesterday. After I pulled off her bow she was left with some pretty crazy hair.

I came into the living room and saw David kissing his dog. I grabbed the camera and got a picture. After I set the camera down David picked up his dog and said "You can get down now, but be nice!" Hmmm...sounds like someones pretty experienced with the naughty chair!

My Bathing Babies...

The other day I was bathing Emily and Jason took a picture. When we were looking at it we thought we remembered taking a picture of David in the bath at around the same age. I dug through the pictures and was so surprised when I found it at how much they looked alike. Everyone always says that they don't really look like each other but I think in these pictures it's pretty obvious they're brother and sister. It was fun to see how little David used to be and I know that I'll blink and Emily won't be a baby anymore, either. It makes me sad just thinking about it.

David's new summer job...

This is David's new best friend- the lawn mower. He's been quite interested in them for a while now (along with the trash truck and trash cans...ya...I don't know). The landscaping is done by a guy named Joe so every time David hears a lawn mower or a weed wacker he yells "Joe!" and goes running to the window to watch. Well, last weekend we were at David's cousin Andrew's house and Andrew had this 'cool' lawn mower. David played with it the whole time we were there, it was love at first sight! David is now the new proud owner of the Fisher Price Bubble Mower (yes, it does, in fact, blow bubbles). Too bad it doesn't really mow, Joe would have some serious help!

Cheese!

Our friend Jen is working to become a photographer so last week we decided to give her some good practice! Thank you Jen for your willingness to brave two kids (and the rain), we love you forever! They turned out awesome! There are some really good ones of David and some really sweet ones of David and Jason. Here are some of my favorites...

He LOVED this tractor!

Isn't she beautiful?!

Love the face David!
